Fr. Francis Mary - On his recent pilgrimage to Rome:
There’s an interesting conversation I had in that sacristy of St. Peters Basilica that I want to recount because I think, and I know for myself to this day I’m a little bit stunned Cardinal Ratzinger came out on that balcony. I still have to kind of like knock myself on the head and say “Did this really happen?”<br>
And there’s a myriad of reasons we can go over why that might be the case. I think we’re very much blessed by it. But there’s one priest who I spoke to in the sacristy of St. Peter’s Basilica who shed some light on this, and really kind of (not that we needed a stamp of approval in any way, obviously the Holy Spirit provided us with this great man as our Pope) but he spoke of something that I think sheds some light on the reality of the battle that we continue to be in, here on earth.
This is ah, I’ll just give you bits and pieces of it, but he mentioned to me, he said:
“Father, I had the privilege just the other day” (this was a few days after the election of Pope Benedict XVI as pope) and he said (we wet him in the sacristy) he goes; “I have to tell you, just a couple days ago I was at an exorcism here in the city of Rome where for over six hours, myself, another priest who was actually the exorcist, and then a couple of other priests were there as well, praying over this person for like six or seven hours. We prayed for the freedom of this person, the authentic freedom to be experienced in their life“.
Apparently they were possessed, if you will. So they were actually going through the Rite of Exorcism that the church lays out for those kinds of cases.
And there came a moment in the six hours of prayer, non-stop, they were getting weak, they were getting, you know, attacked themselves, they could feel the presence literally of the evil in the room. At one particular moment, this is what kind of happened or transpired. They said the person who was being exorcised actually began to speak out and to say some words. And apparently it turns out, he says, our Blessed Mother had commanded this demon to speak out on Pope Benedict the XVI.
And here‘s what he said (this is the demon speaking through this person who was ultimately possessed):
“We tried to stop it. We tried to stop it. We tried to stop it.“
Over and over again, in this kind of yelting, this kind of screeching, this kind of horrific voice coming out of this person. And the person went on to explain that it was “SHE“, capital S-H-E, “SHE“, Our Lady, who enabled all this to happen, who was in fact commanding this demon (all demons are at Her feet, as we see in that beautiful depiction of Her with the snake at her feet). She in fact commanded this demon to speak out these things, and to screech these things. That “We tried to stop this appointment. We tied to stop this, but we could not“.
I’m not saying that’s true, I’m just saying what was recounted to me. But it rings of truth, he had no reason to lie, as several other priests told me. And ah, exorcisms are in fact happening in the world. The devil does exist. We are in a battle.
I think when you look at when it comes to the naming of a Pontiff, I think the very dregs of hell would rise up and try to stop this process from happening the way Our Lord would want it to happen.
So we pray for Pope Benedict XVI, we pray in a big way. I encourage all of you to try and make a trip out to Rome, it’s really, you will be blessed by it. Catholics and non-Catholics alike are blessed by this. Do something to try and make that happen. And ah, it’s not that difficult, ok?. It will be difficult once you do it, but that’s a good sign. That’s a confirmation that you are doing the right thing, and you will be in fact blessed by it.
Amen.
